set the setting "Maintain enough tasks to keep busy for at least" to Zero, i.e., "0" and set "... and up to an additional"...

to "0" too. BOINC should only keep as many WUs on your machine as you have processor instances.

It just swelled on a batch of small (.85 hrs) work units while I was trying to round out gold badges. It's all good now.

I did have the prob with WCG not accepting results, too. It kept pushing back 2-3 hrs at a time. Server maintenance?
