Crossed 10M this weekend.
@JCMarsh - I agree with Roland. My GTX 460 just squeaks by on some FAX4s

@JCMarsh - the 580 was doing FAX4s in about 10 hours. I only run continuously on weekends, though.

JCMArsh: on a 560TI xTRYP takes 12h, and a PAOLA WU takes 20h. Not done any FAX4 lately.

Ok, "reserved" a CPU core so the GPU shouldn't go flat waiting to be fed. Will keep an eye on my bsRAC.

I hope so! Still want to add another GPU in next few months. Is gtx480 a good bang:buck choice?

@JCMarsh:

I would consider a 560ti-448.

$250-$300, the 560TI 448 core is a great choice. Smaller memory bandwidth, less VRAM than 580, better compute/cost value.

GTX480 consumes more, costs nearly the same, performs nearly the same
Don't wait for 660->on, all Kepler and all compute poo

A little bit of dyscalculia ?
GTX560 Ti 448
And the 448 hold the distinction of being a cut down GF110, or GTX580

@JCMarsh - I _did_ avoid the 480. Higher power consumption, high noise, not as good as the 580.

The only reason I went with the 580 was it was on sale and had a rebate - total cost $378. Maybe not quite the value of the

560-Ti 448, but it was hard to pass up at that price.

Personally, I think the 560 Ti-448 would be a much better choice than the 480 and they can be had for $270 after rebate.

@JCMarsh:

A 560ti-448 is good for 100K+/day on GPUGrid.

WU 3381609 (Nathan) in a tad over 13 hrs; WU 3385621 (MJHarvey) just under 8 hrs. Par for GTX 550TI?

Thank you all for giving me a quick education on the GPUs, as well. After Indy later this month I'll buy one. :burnout:

@JCMarsh - it depends on the "Nathan". If its a Nathan_FAX4, then that is a very good time. My 460 does those in 23 - 26 hrs.

My 580 was doing Nathan_FAX4s in about 10hrs.
