i prefer investing electrical power into cpu/gpu power instead of a crt-monitor ... maybe when winter gets really cold

My 17" LCD draws about 35W, my 17" CRT draws around 50... Not that big of a power savings, but definitely less heat.

I don't plan on replacing any CRTs unless they go bad... Even then, might pick up more since they're pretty dirt cheap (free)

My problem is CRTs take up too much real estate. My 27" and two 17" LCDs have less depth combined than a 17" CRT.

CRT's can take up to much Space & they can weigh a Ton, got rid of my CRT's years ago ...
