Due to the outages from S@H this week, I see alot of people saying that they need WU's to crunch on. What I like to do is to keep about 3-5 days worth of work in my cache so that if I'm unable to contact S@H, I can still crunch in the background and then report everything once they're back up.
Here's how....
1. Login to your S@H account here
2. Once logged in, goto the following section...."Preferences, View or Edit General Preferences, Network Usage"
3. Once there click on "Edit Preferences"
Go down to "Connect to network about every:" as this is what need's to be modified. By default, I believe it's .1 which means that it will download new work when it's going to run out of work in .1 days, but it also means that it's only going to download .1 days of work also. I changed my to 3 days which allows me to download 3 days of work and then always maintain 3 days of work at all times.
For me 3 days is fine. Some people like to set it to 10.. BUT.. becareful of that. If you download 10 days of work and you run a 500MHz machine that takes 14 hours to process a WU, you might have WU's expiring past their deadline and you won't get credits.
I just like enough to get me through little outages like this.
Enjoy and I hope this helps!
