From the Newssection on the Homepage of BURP:
Apr 01, 2007
BURP has been sold to Microsoft Corporation and will be renamed to "Microsoft 3D Online". For the future this has a few minor consequences, mainly pricing:
Render of 1 session: $2
Render of 10 sessions: $19
Or a monthly fee of $50 for any number of sessions
Also our client now requires a genuine installation of MSN Messenger and Outlook Express to work.

Could this be just a April Fool's joke. Myself i have not crunched for BURP yet, but if this is just a project that does some mathmatical figures what interest would Microsoft have in it. And why would you have to pay to crunch? No one would pay to crunch a Workunit because there are many other projects out there that people could be crunching for instead.

Of course. Don't believe absolutely anything you see today.
