Hi,

just an idea/suggestion, how to satisfy both "needs" (server load + potential scrapers satisfaction).
as you serve the signatures as a (hopefully statically created?) image, you could provide also a statically file with those data (e.g. xml or json).
And add a field, when the data will be updated.
So those who want the data can just process that and with the latter field, you can decide when the next query is being done.
This method would mean less load and traffic than people using the signature graphic.
And make sure in the usage agreement, that people link to boincstats.com when publishing the data.

I think that might be an opportunity. But as mentioned just a thought/idea/suggestion.
