Hello,
Please forgive my noobness; hopefully I am posting in the correct area.
There is a user who accumulated over 5,000,000 points in one day and has been doing 500,000 a day on the DistRTGen project...with only a few hosts pumping out 50 credits per WU. I checked out the number of WUs crunched, and it does not match at all. I notified the project, and they said they might look into it, but nothing has been done so far. I'm not a spoiled rotten apple, but man, the stats thing is cool and it sucks to see someone cheating or a bug ruining things. Something doesn't add up, whether purposeful or not. Would your admin(s) have enough pull to contact the project in order to correct, are you able to adjust the stats in-house, or is there anything else I can do?
The individual in question is on Australian team, name is Paul, and stats page is:
http://boincstats.com/stats/boinc_user_graph.php?pr=bo&id=1827457
Again, if legitimately earned I have no problem, but DistRTGen acknowledged it is inaccurate, it is not accumulated credit over months, and it was impossible based on # of hosts. I know there have been cases in the past about people hacking into others' machines and running BOINC unbeknownst to the machines' owners, but I have no evidence that this is any kind of foul play--just patently unfair.
Can you give any suggestions as to how to proceed?
I appreciate your attention. Nice to meet everyone, by the way.
Take care for now.
Cheers!
