Hi. I found a small problem in mine statistics (user name is tomasbabic). If I look to main SETI stats in line "Highest World position ever" then I find text "34,669 at 2005-05-05". But if I look at the bottom of the page to the table "Last 30 days (based on the daily update numbers):" then I find that day "2005-05-01" was better. So that's a probably bug :-).

Higher in a ranking == closer to 1

Hmm.. Maybe you don't understand the problem. I have a similar problem when I look in to it.

Xophs have never been that high in the rankings (26000) by the look
of the other graphs in his statpage.

In my case (mystat) the "highest world position ever" says 6191 now, but on date 2005-05-24.
That 6191 is actually todays rank.. and from 2005-05-24 (which according to "last 30 days"-scheme at the bottom of the page says its rank is 6348.) I have been getting better rank the whole week since that day.

Maybe in my case the error is in the date.

hope it helps

OK, now I see ops:

I think I found the bug, once again a fault int the conversion from PHP to Perl.

Let's see if it goes correct from now on.

Something is still wrong...
In my earlier post I said my pos. was 6348 at 2005-05-24
It has moved up to 2005-05-26 now ???
Same goes with the number 6191.. which is still my "todays" position.
Looks like everything shifted somehow.

My previous links are dead now...
Noticed it today that I have a new CPID since 2005-05-25...
(I dont' know why I got it though ?) but my graphs has lost all old data
before 25/5 in these pages <!--emo&-->

*edit* The lost data only affects Total Boinc Page.

Have a look at my stats: http://www.boincstats.com/stats/boinc_user...e1926a7d3b921c8. It says that my "Highest World position ever" was 26762 at 2005-05-09. I don't think that is correct. I think my highest position is 32,526 today.

(Another minor thing which I just noticed. Your highest world ever number doesn't have a comma like all the other numbers great than 1000 do. It doesn't really matter though.)

Keep up the good work!

I understand that. I am 32526 today which is 134 better than the 32660 I had yesterday. I don't think I have ever been as high as 26762 as I apparently was on 2005-05-09. The last 30 days stats show that on 2005-05-11 I was 35517. I doubt I dropped ~9000 positions in two days!

The drop is entirely possible. During those days CPDN was down, and they got back 2 days ago, wich gave a lot of people a lot of credit. At your position, even a few credits can mean a position change of more then 100.

With the greatest of respect Willy, I honestly think this is a bug.

A change of 100 in a couple of days - sure. A drop of 9000 positions in two days - I don't think so. My "Recent average position change per day" is 206 upwards - not what you would expect if I have gone down ~9000 in a month. Something is definitely wrong here.

I have also just looked at the World Position History graph. At 2005-05-09, it looks like I was roughly at position 36000 not the 26762 that the "Highest World Position ever" graph shows.

I've just re-read through the other posts. I note that Xoph's problem is also that his/her "Highest World position ever" was apparently on 2005-05-09 (same day as me). Xoph's situation seems the same as mine. Xoph has never been that high and the graph of his/her stats shows him/her having a very different ranking on that day than what "Highest World position ever" shows.

This problem is in my combined stats only. The individual project stats seem fine.

As I have said in previous posts, keep up your good work. It is great that you are running this service for us.

You're right. Well, at least about my CPDN explanation. That happened a month later.

I just went through the scripts, and I can't find something wrong. Doesn't mean there isn't something wrong, I may have just misses it. Fact is that the 'normal' user update (single projects) uses the same algorithm to calculate positions and best 5days/highest ever, and there seems to be nothing wrong there.

I found more users with their highest on 2005-5-9, so something must have happened that day. Maybe a problem with the (at that time too hot) CPU or something.

Anyway, I need a more present (read: last update) example of this to be able to find the bug.

I could also erase all highest ever records with their date on 2005-5-9 as they seem to be invalid.

Your comment that something may have happened on that day made me remember a previous thread. Have a look at these two threads. They occured on 2005-05-10 which is when (I think) the calculations for 2005-05-09 would have been done. Apparently there was a problem which lead to negative numbers being introduced.

Could this have resulted in rankings going all over the place, with some of us going a long way up and then dropping down once you fixed the problem but after the high point was recorded? As you fixed it - you will presumably remember what happened.

http://www.boincstats.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=435

Hope this helps you.

Deleting the records for those of us with a high on that day makes sense. As an affected user, I certainly wouldn't object.

I think I need to maintain some kind of log, or write more info in the forum when I fix a bug. Can't remember what the exact problem was, other then it had something to do with the PHP->Perl conversion.

Maybe it'll come back to me when I relax a bit...
