for some time it is no longer "On a multiprocessor system, use at most xx processors" as a number, but as percentage of available cores.

if i'm right about this, you should have <max_cpus>100</max_cpus> for the older clients and <max_ncpus_pct>100</max_ncpus_pct> for the newer ones.

There are two settings. Maximum number of cores and % of CPU.

yup!

defaults seem to be

On multiprocessors, use at most
Enforced by version 5.10 and earlier 2 processors

On multiprocessors, use at most
Enforced by version 6.1+ 100 % of the processors

but with BAM! i only can control the first one - or does it work on both?

BAM! supports both (from my global settings):
On a multiprocessor system, use at most 16 processors
On a multiprocessor system, use at most 100% of the processors

Unless you mean something else, like it's not working.

Argh. I added that yesterday at the same time as I added it to the general prefs, but forgot to add it to the overview, everything else was in place. Anyway, added it now.

Must be the heat.... Or maybe I should go on vacation.
